DepthStudio

In development

2D-to-stereo conversion for headset spatial video. DepthStudio turns flat footage into stereo pairs for Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest and VR180, with checks for depth comfort and temporal stability built into the pipeline.

Who it's for

Music video directors preparing spatial releases, agencies and brands making immersive content, and artists who want depth in work that was shot flat. Studio-grade stereo conversion has traditionally needed a large team and budget. DepthStudio aims to make it practical for a single project.

How it works

  1. Estimate depth

A video depth model builds a depth map for every frame, kept consistent over time so depth doesn't flicker or breathe within a shot.

  2. Build the second eye

The second view is rendered from the original frame and its depth, with controls for how much depth each shot gets and where the screen plane sits.

  3. Fill what the camera never saw

Shifting the view reveals areas hidden in the original frame. A generative fill model reconstructs those edges instead of smearing or stretching them.

  4. Check every shot

Every shot is measured against a parallax budget for comfortable viewing and scanned for shimmer and edge artifacts. Problem shots are flagged for an artist to adjust.

Try it on your footage

DepthStudio is still in development. If you have a shot you’d like to see in stereo, send me a short clip and I’ll run it through the current pipeline.
